Early life and education
Bhattarai was born in Khotang district in the eastern region of Nepal.

His father was a government official and mother, a housewife. A year after his birth, his parent moved to Kathmandu, where he grew up. He received a master's degree in Environmental Science from Tribhuvan University in He names B.P Koirala, Parijat, Dhruba Chandra Gautam and Dha.
