R. Nanda, Mahatma Gandhi: A Biography (1st ed., ; expanded edition, New Delhi:  Oxford UP, ); and Robert Payne, The Life and Death of Mahatma Gandhi (Dutton, ). This list does not indicate my endorsement of any particular biography, and you can pick up some other biography of your choice.
